The dance team parents finished a fund raiser today in the Folsom gym. They had a bake sale inside the gym all week long and on Saturday they teamed up with a shredding company! A lot of people took advantage of getting rid of a lot of paper! Whew!
The team is earning money for a big competition next weekend. Good luck girls! To all of the parents that support the dance team...way to go and thank you!

Closed for spring break

I know that it's tough to not have class when you have wiggley kids that need to burn some energy but it is going to be nice to have a week off.
We take advantage of being closed to get big work done.
Sacramento TRICKS is getting new tile in the bathrooms and Granite Bay is getting a new sound system. Folsom is hopefully going to get finished up with paint.
Have fun everybody!

The Most Important Trick In Gymnastics

It's a handstand! This is a trick that you do on every single event. It seems like a basic skill but it has a lot of technical angles and uses a lot of muscle. Everything from feet to legs, the core, shoulders and even the fingers have to work hard to do this trick.
Happy handstanding!

Meet

Thank you, thank you for all of the nice comments on the meet! The response has been overwhelmingly wonderful!
I sent an email to Steve Whitlock at USA Gymnastics letting him know of our desire to host 2010 Nationals.

Wi Fi

We're diligently working on the WiFi hot spots for each gym. Hang in there. Hopefully by the time we get back from spring break

Gymnastics Rocks Classic Meet

Gymnastics Rocks!!!
Yet another dream come true!!! TRICKS hosted our first meet outside the gym last Saturday, March 8th. It was a huge success thanks to all of the athletes, parents and some really hard workers behind the scenes.
Check out the pictures from our home page. Six of our nine TRICKS teams have qualified for the national meet in Las Vegas on June 14th. Congrats to all the gymnasts! Rock on! Bjo

Hi Everybody!

Thanks for checking out our new website! For those of you in our gyms you know that this year we're serious about dreams. I read a book last fall called The Dream Manager. It inspired me to do for our staff what was just a fable in the book. I just knew it could work!
In December we hired two people whose specific job is to meet with our staff on a monthly basis and help them to achieve their dreams. They are the TRICKS Dream Managers: Colleen Chamberlain and Jen Kerr.
At the staff holiday parties in December we gave everyone a simple journal and challenged them to write down 100 things they want to do in life. We bring our journals when we meet with the dream managers, pick out a few to work on that month and then off we go. It's simple but proving to be very powerful. Just to know that someone cares and is going to encourage you to do things that you might not have kept as a priority, is pretty cool. I'm speaking for myself because I get to meet with Colleen and have really enjoyed our meetings.
I also gave my kids dream journals for Christmas. You're never to young or too old to start dreaming big. Where do you think TRICKS came from anyway?
What are your dreams? Barbara Jo

We would like to welcome you to our new web site.
